Does XL charge a fee to find me a position or consulting engagement?
  
No.  XL Associates’ services are free to you. Our clients pay all fees.
  

With which professional disciplines do you work?
  
XL is focused exclusively in a narrowly defined market niche where we have a proven reputation. We have been providing highly skilled contracts and procurement professionals at all levels to public and private sector clients since 1989. We are currently serving clients in all phases of the procurement process, ranging from major systems contract and subcontract management to commodity buying and contract closeout. We are determined not to take an “all things to all people” approach to professional services. This philosophy enables us to deliver the expected quality to our clients, and also helps your own credibility through your association with us.
  

How long will it take for XL to find me a position or assignment?
  
Our goal is to find you a consulting assignment within 24 hours of receiving your permission to forward your resume to a particular client. You are a key part of the equation here. The mitigating factors may include salary requirements, acceptable driving distances, the type of work you will accept, and client demand for your expertise. Generally, the more flexible you can be, the faster the process will advance. Consulting assignments generally evolve faster than permanent positions because there is far less long-term commitment on the parts of both you and our clients. If you can meet their immediate challenges, and the variables listed above are acceptable to you both, you are oftentimes quickly offered the assignment. Permanent positions, depending on seniority, can take several weeks based on a variety of factors such as urgency of need, and internal screening procedures.
  

Will XL respect my confidentiality?
  
Absolutely! We have built our reputation on professionalism, ethics, and integrity. We will speak to you about each specific position or assignment, and will not send your resume anywhere without your expressed permission. In our small market niche, the cliché “what goes around comes around” really holds true.
  

What if I am already sending my resumes to certain companies?
  
Fine. Just let us know so that we are not duplicating efforts. One distinct advantage we can offer you is that oftentimes we have great relationships with hiring managers. We might be able to offer you helpful insight to further your own efforts.
  

Does XL offer benefits?
  
Yes. We offer a full range of benefits including paid time off, paid holidays and heavily subsidized health insurance. Some of our employees prefer to maximize their financial compensation while others prefer a compensation package with a more robust benefit component. Suffice it to say that we will accommodate your needs regarding benefits.
  

How often will I be paid?
   
Payroll is generated bi-weekly (every two weeks) on Fridays. Upon accepting an assignment with XL, you will be provided an orientation package detailing the exact pay dates and time covered, for a period of a year. Also, electronic deposit is available upon your request.
  

What do you need from me to get started?
  
Simply contact us or send us your resume online. We are always looking for qualified consultants in the entire contracts and procurement realm. When we feel we have a match for your particular skill set, we will contact you about specific opportunities. You are also welcome to call us directly to discuss your qualifications.
